On the Passing of Blanche (Hurt) Heldt

Blanche Hurt-Heldt passed away this year at age 85, on the same day as Doris Sweet, November 19th. Her brother Don sent this recent photo. You can view her obituary by clicking here .

My mother Janice Wallace, especially remembers Blanche from the Allerton IL Hurt Reunions in the 60's.

Those times seem so long ago now. I recall nearly 200 people getting together on beautiful summer days; with everyone from old-timers to toddlers renewing connections across generations.

If we are each very lucky, we'll have an opportunity to look back from that privileged view-point of matriarch or patriarch and feel proud of what we've helped to bring into being.
