Artisan Tim Summerville Creates Hammered Bronze Wildlife in San Jose, IL

(Posted 3/1/2011) - Tim Summerville has recently turned to creating shaped and hammered bronze wildlife statuary. His first piece has been displayed and was immediately sold through an art-dealer in Champaigne-Urbana.

Here are two photos of Tim's recent pieces, a Lake Heron, and an Eagle. These are completely handmade, and absolutely unique. No two birds are identical.

Tim is the youngest son of Dave and Loistel (Delp) Summerville, and is a great-grandchild of Tell and Pearl Hurt. He has worked as a graphic artist most of his adult life, designing some notable Las Vegas Marques over the years.

Here is a photograph of Tim's latest sculpture, an eagle in bronze, with a natural wood base. If you would like to talk with Tim about his work drop us a line here and I'll forward your email to Tim. I don't publish Hurt family members' email addresses on this website, but it is a simple matter to forward emails to any member on our mailing list who is the topic of a news item!

Tim is also an avid Kayak builder and enjoys paddling his custom wood creations down rivers and along ocean shores. Maybe Tim will forward some pictures of these one of a kind kayaks to display here, hint, hint :-)

To view a larger version of these pictures just click your mouse on either image. The detail in these birds is amazing!
